Investing in the Well-being of Northeast Indiana’s Youth
The Mad Anthonys Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of youth in Northeast Indiana through the power of sports and physical activity. Our grant-giving mission is to empower youth by promoting, supporting, and providing access to athletic and active programs that nurture their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
While this remains our primary focus, we also proudly support non-profit organizations that provide other essential services and enrichment opportunities to enhance the lives of children and their families in our community.

Successful grant applications will demonstrate a strong alignment with our foundation’s mission and values.
While our primary focus is on organizations that use athletics and physical activities as a vehicle for impact, we also welcome applications from non-profits providing other critical services that enhance the well-being of youth in Northeast Indiana.

Grant Categories & Eligibility
We provide funding across several categories that support youth development. If your project fits within one of these areas, we encourage you to apply.
- Eligibility: Organizations seeking grants must be a non-profit serving youth in Northeast Indiana.
- Youth Sports & Recreation Programs: Grants to support the creation or expansion of local youth sports programs. This can include funding for equipment, coaching, and facility upgrades.
- Scholarships: Funds to cover participation fees, travel expenses, or specialized training camps for economically disadvantaged youth.
- Infrastructure and Facility Enhancement: Support for projects that improve or build athletic facilities, playgrounds, and sports fields in underserved neighborhoods.
- Youth Wellness Initiatives: Funding for programs focused on the overall well-being of youth, including mental health awareness and nutrition education.
- Child & Family Support Services: Grants for organizations that provide essential services to children and their families during times of need, contributing to a stable and supportive environment for child development.
- Healthy Lifestyles: Supporting programs that promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy living habits.

Eligibility
- Must be a current 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit, tax exempt status under the IRS Code
- Must be located in Northeast Indiana
- Demonstrate benefit to community, effective performance, meaningful outcomes and financial responsibility and accountability
Submission Timeline & Details
- To properly budget and plan, submissions are required a minimum of 60 days prior to the deadline.
- Submissions may be accepted on a year-round basis for limited contingency funds. Requests received by the deadline in the following year are more likely to receive consideration. For requests received at other times during the year, please allow 4-6 weeks for review and notification.
- Only one check per request in a 12-month period. Approval of a multi-year request is considered. For larger requests. Example: ($20,000 for 5 years = $100,000).

What to Submit with Application
- Mad Anthonys Foundation (MA) Benefit Form detailing organization and contact information, program details, specifics of request and how funds and/or services will be used
- Benefit of program/services to the community
- Why the program/services are a good fit for MA
- Levels and benefits of each
- List of all organizations associated with the program/services
- Support documents or information
- Other opportunities with the organization
- If applicable, include summary of annual spending by mission or programming categories, complete budget for the project or location of IRS 990 form for prior year
After Notification
- For community benefit requests that are approved, the requester is required to submit a follow-up report to MA’s Executive Director within 60 days of the program/service. The follow-up report should summarize who was impacted, how they were impacted and how the funds were used.
