Tyler Eifert

FORT WAYNE, Ind., April 8, 2024 — Mad Anthonys Foundation has named Fort Wayne native and former NFL standout Tyler Eifert as its third Red Coat recipient for 2024.

“We are thrilled to recognize Tyler as a Red Coat recipient this year,” said Mad Anthonys Board President Sherri Miller. “In both his athletic endeavors and his community support, he has represented Fort Wayne with pride and excellence. He is fully deserving of his induction into the family of Red Coat recipients.”

After graduating from Bishop Dwenger High School, Eifert earned national accolades as a tight end at the University of Notre Dame from 2010-2012, including winning the Mackey Award, which goes to the nation’s top collegiate tight end, in 2012. He also broke Notre Dame’s single- season records for receptions and receiving yards by a tight end in 2011. Drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, Eifert enjoyed an eight-year professional career with more than 220 receptions and 2,500 receiving yards, as well as a bid to the 2015 Pro Bowl.

Since the end of his NFL career after the 2020 season, Eifert has stayed close to the game through several brand sponsorships and other business ventures. He is married with two young children.

“Being named a Red Coat recipient is an incredible honor,” Eifert said. “Growing up in Fort Wayne, I knew what a big deal the Mad Anthonys Foundation and the Red Coat were. I am incredibly grateful to the Mad Anthonys for this recognition and humbled at the chance to join this year’s other honorees.”

In January, the Mad Anthonys named Jim Marcuccilli and Tom Marcuccilli of Fort Wayne-based STAR Financial Group, Inc., its initial 2024 Red Coat recipients. STAR Financial Group, Inc., the parent company of STAR Financial Bank, is an Indiana-based community bank known for its culture of delivering quality service, personalized banking solutions and innovative use of Technology.

Jim Marcuccilli, Tom Marcuccilli and Tyler Eifert will be honored at the Red Coat Gala, which will be held on May 18, 2024, at the Clyde Theater in Fort Wayne. This charity event will help to strengthen the Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation and the organizations it supports. Those interested in attending the Red Coat Gala or in supporting the Mad Anthonys Foundation can purchase tickets and learn more about becoming a Mad Anthonys supporter on their website.

The 67th Mad Anthonys Pro-Am will take place on Oct. 10, 2024, at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne.
